Zetium is a unique X-ray fluorescence (XRF) instrument, with up to three complementary technologies on one multi-functional platform.

To make system selection straightforward, PANalytical has created a series of dedicated Zetium editions, with key features tailored for specific industries.

Cement: Elemental and free lime analysis for cement production

The Cement edition of Zetium includes the innovative THETA free lime core for dedicated cement applications. This delivers clear advantages for cement analysis, through the ability to make traditional XRF measurements and determine free lime in the same system. THETA free lime measures up to 750 times more sample than conventional diffraction-based free lime analyzers.

Metals: Fast and accurate analysis of metals

The Metals edition of Zetium is designed to meet the strictest process control targets, from raw materials to final and secondary products and can include a small spot analysis tool for fast element distribution mapping. Tailored solutions are available for the analysis of steels and other alloys, including copper alloys and low alloy steel, as well as an optional addition for oxides in raw materials or coatings analysis.

Minerals: Minerals analysis that delivers robust performance in tough environments

The Minerals edition is designed for materials analysis at all stages of the mining process, from exploration to mineral concentrates. For improved analytical performance, integrated SumXcore  technology offers dramatically reduced measurement times for high througput environments. The Minerals edition of Zetium can also include a small spot analysis tool for fast element distribution mapping.

This edition is pre-configured to cover a wide elemental range at concentrations from ppm to 100 wt%. The system includes a new faster sample changer and tailored application solutions for the analysis of geological samples. Zetium is designed to set new standards in terms of flexibility, analytical performance and stability in demanding mining environments.

Petro: Compliant analysis of oils, fuels and other petrochemicals

The Petro edition of the Zetium spectrometer provides a flexible tool for the compliant analysis of petrochemicals, oils and fuels to meet the demanding requirements in regulated environments. This edition is pre-configured to deliver results compliant with ISO and ASTM standards, through a choice of compliance modules. The integrated SumXcore technology provides dual compliance for both WD- and EDXRF standards and norms. The accuracy of your results is supported by independent checks using NIST traceable reference materials. To meet customer’s expectations, spectrometers can be optimized to your budget and performance requirements.

Polymers: Analysis of polymers and plastics

The Polymers edition is designed to support product consistency through reliable elemental analysis for samples across the production process and can include a small spot analysis tool for fast element distribution mapping. This edition is pre-configured with appropriate application modules for specific polymers and plastics. Additionally tailored modules are available for the analysis of polymers and plastics, toxic elements in polyethylene and RoHS elements in polyolefins

Ultimate: the most advanced configuration in the Zetium family

The Ultimate edition of the Zetium spectrometer is a complete, dedicated tool for research environments as well as in industrial applications where ultimate performance is key. It is designed for the analysis of any type of sample and unknown material. SumXcore, the innovative combination of WD- and EDXRF technologies, offers a fast and powerful screening tool for XRF analysis. The ED core features a small spot mapping SDD detector, adding a compositional mapping functionality for fast and accurate analysis of inclusions. To meet customer’s expectations, spectrometers can be optimized to your budget and performance requirements.
