Roderick L Beijersbergen

Dr Roderick Beijersbergen’s work involves the design, construction and application of large scale RNA interference libraries to perform loss-of-function genetic screens in mammalian cells. He has developed novel screening methods with the use of shRNA libraries and DNA micro-arrays to be able to rapidly screen large numbers of shRNA vectors. This technology is applied to identify the mechanism of action of anti-cancer drugs and mechanisms of resistance. He is head of the NKI Robotics and Screening Center providing a technology platform to perform large scale automated cell based assays using high content imaging for complex phenotypes.
