For the first time at INTERPHEX (International Pharmaceutical Expo), in Booth 3816, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions will showcase its engineered innovations for medical, biotech & pharmaceutical applications in silicone and other elastomers.

With an emphasis on drug delivery such as insulin inhalers, prefilled syringes, infusion pumps, intrauterine devices, single-use bio process bags and other drug-device combination products, Trelleborg delivers polymer solutions that optimize the performance of a diverse range of media.

INTERPHEX serves as the perfect venue for Trelleborg to highlight its pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical innovations, technology and knowledge of Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) parts, tubing and hose, dynamic and static seals, O-Rings, diaphragms, bearings, bushings and custom-engineered products for life sciences challenges.

Luis Tissone, Life Sciences Director for Trelleborg Sealing Solutions in the Americas, says: “As drugs come off patent and new pharmaceutical companies enter the market, drug-delivery devices have become an important selling tool. In addition to appearance, device function is an essential aspect of product differentiation and a great influencer on commercial success.”

Patients’ demands for smaller and more discreet devices have presented new challenges to device designers and opportunities for Trelleborg to solve polymer-related issues through its unique shoulder-to-shoulder engineering approach.

Pharmaceutical companies want devices that are easily actuated to enhance user experience and accuracy of drug delivery. Low-friction material combinations play an important role in addressing this requirement. Trelleborg Sealing Solutions can help customers reduce overall component size and weight of their drug delivery systems and leverage efficient disposable devices. With thinner sections and fewer components, mechanical demands on individual components have heightened, resulting in greater use of high-performance engineered polymers, an area we know well.

INTERPHEX attendees are invited to the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions booth 3816 to learn more about the power of shoulder- to-shoulder engineering design, advanced delivery, LSR technology and to see firsthand the company’s wide range of medical grade solutions used in pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical applications.
