IDBS Celebrates Queen’s Award for International Trade

IDBS, a global provider of innovative data management, analytics and modeling solutions, was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category on Tuesday September 6.

IDBS’ founder and CEO Neil Kipling received the award from Her Majesty the Queen’s representative, the Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, Mrs Sarah Goad, JP, at the company’s headquarters in Guildford, Surrey.

“As a British company competing against a number of overseas players, we are absolutely delighted to receive this prestigious award,” said Neil Kipling.

“We have experienced unparalleled growth and commercial success over the past three years. This is through the commercialisation of innovative new products, accessing new and growing markets and an absolute commitment to the highest standards by our employees around the world. I am thrilled to see our recent success recognised in this manner.”

IDBS was recognised for increasing its overseas sales by 45% over the last three years to a combined total of £51m. IDBS employs 320 worldwide (150 in Guildford) and its software is used by over 1,000 companies in more than 40 countries.

Guests at the event also included The Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey Mr Shahid Azeem, The Worshipful the Mayor and Mayoress of Guildford, and Dr Malcolm Parry OBE, Managing Director of the Surrey Research Park as well as representatives of IDBS’ customers at home and abroad including Pfizer, Lonza, Servier and the University of Cambridge.
