Sanofi (EURONEXT : SAN and NYSE : SNY) is pleased to announce today the appointment of Jean-Luc Lowinski, as Senior Vice President, Asia Region, effective May 1, 2012.

Based in Shanghai, Jean-Luc Lowinski will report to Hanspeter Spek, President, Global Operations and will become a member of the Global Leadership Team of the Group.

“I am extremely pleased that such a talented and well experienced individual as Jean-Luc Lowinski is on board,” declared Hanspeter Spek, President, Global Operations. “In his career, Jean-Luc has gained extensive experience in Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Healthcare and Animal Health, all activities which are important for Sanofi. I’m confident that his deep knowledge of different Asian cultures makes him ideally suited to lead our operations to continued growth and success in the region.”

Jean-Luc Lowinski holds a Ph.D in Veterinary Science from the University of Nantes, France and is a graduate from INSEAD. Jean-Luc joined Bayer Germany in 1992 and held various positions including Head of Operations in Singapore, India, Thailand, China and Japan. In 2003, he became Head of Bayer Healthcare, China, before being appointed Head of Bayer Healthcare, Asia Pacific, and President, Bayer Yakuhin, Japan in 2007. Since 2010, he has been Global Head of the Animal Health Division at Bayer.
