Description
Ionimed Analytik provides solutions for non-invasive process monitoring of volatiles emanating from fermentations. The volatile metabolites are directly linked to the cells metabolism. This highly relevant information can be used for real-time process monitoring, along the lines of the FDA’s PAT initiative, for process control, and process optimization.
The Ionimed PTR-MS-bio system is based on proton-transfer-reaction mass-spectrometry – to date the most sensitive technique for real-time detection of volatile compounds. The system is implemented outside the GMP area, without affecting the process validation, and has been developed in collaboration with leading biopharmaceutical companies to suite industrial needs.
