New! HCA Web Seminars

This year you are able join live interactive web seminars from the comfort of your office and learn about cutting-edge research and technology in HCA. No costs or hassles of travel, no time away from the office!

While the web seminars cannot match the level of networking, scientific content, and trade show of the annual HCA meeting, they are meant to supplement it by giving you access to speakers who are not able to attend the annual meeting and to keep you updated on the latest developments throughout the year.

Register for the HCA Pre-Conference Web Seminar on 3 December 2008, and receive a $200 discount off your HCA 2009 registration fee.

Programme schedule:

  • On 5 January 2009 there will be a pre-conference advanced workshop called ‘Setting up an HCA Lab’. This will include a talk by Anthony Davies, Ph.D., Director at the High-Content Research Facility, Clinical Medicine, Trinity College, Ireland.
  • On 6 January 2009 the user groups meetings will take place. This will include meetings by Thermo Scientific and GE Healthcare.
  • On 7-9 January 2009 there will be several talks and discussions on subjects such as HCA for Toxicology and HCA Data Management. Speakers will include Keith Grochow, IT Lead Analyst at the Scientific Information Sciences, Roche and Jason Swedlow, Ph.D. at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression, Wellcome Trust Biocentre, University of Dundee.

This year’s conference will be held at The Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco. This world-renowned hotel, which has recently been restored, is a picture of the historic city. For more information please visit http://www.fairmont.com/sanfrancisco
