Festival of Genomics London 2017
Location: London, UK
The Festival of Genomics London (30th Jan – 1st Feb, ExCel London) is an inspiring gathering of expert genomic researchers, with one collective mission: to drive the benefits of genomics to patients, faster. Brimming with the variety of a Festival, this is the place to get the big picture, transform your perspectives and create a memorable experience with new, and old, colleagues. And all without paying a penny! Visit www.festivalofgenomicslondon.com to find out more.
Join over 1200 people, from across academia, healthcare, drug development and technology providers for three days of educational wonderment. Kick off with dedicated workshops during Base Camp (the only paid for part of the Festival) headline superstar speakers, topic-specific talks in 9 streamlined tracks, a packed exhibition floor and, of course, our Festival attractions. All with the aim of connecting people working in genomics, be it in an office, lab, clinic or anywhere in between.
Data will be covered across both days of the Festival. Understand how analysing, sharing and integrating bio-data at SCALE is driving biology and medicine forwards. Our Enabling Data track will enlighten you to actionable knowledge from massive amounts of genomic and phenotype data. Gain insights into the work of GA4GH as we showcase how the Genomics API is advancing information sharing for DNA data providers and consumers on a global scale.
Healthcare providers should feel empowered not overwhelmed by genomics. Mix and match sessions from 3 core areas – Genomics in the Clinic, Genetic Counselling in the Genomics Era & Whose genome is it anyway? Introductory workshops will get you up to speed with variant analysis techniques and clinical applications for fundamental bioinformatics.
Fresh for 2017 we delve in to the hottest topic of the moment: CRISPR/cas9. Discover how to apply CRISPR to both your research and in the clinic in a programme put together in partnership with Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. Take on the CRISPR trail from the basics to advanced skills in Base Camp workshops with a 3 tiered guide to designing your experiment, exploring practical challenges of using CRISPR and summit by up-skilling “Beyond the gene”.
