Raman In-Depth Focus issue 3 2018
  • Raman spectroscopy: a powerful tool for product analysis and production process control
Vibrational spectroscopy has broad applications in analysing the molecular component of a solid sample, particularly for its ability to identify certain chemical species based on its spectroscopic fingerprint and its capability of performing non-destructive analysis.
  • The rise of Raman: a fast-growing tool for PAT/QbD
While Raman has been used for decades as a research tool, we are not seeing it make big inroads in the process stream, from raw materials through to finished products. Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) has been used for raw materials since the mid-1980s, but it does have limitations.
