In aseptic manufacturing, environmental monitoring must provide reliable information without disturbing the conditions it is intended to verify. This is particularly important for passive microbial air monitoring in Grade A areas, where exposed settle plates must remain in clean, undisturbed first air to generate representative results.

The MAS-100 Libra® was developed to automate settle plate handling in isolators, RABS and GMP-regulated cleanroom environments. By standardising plate movement and exposure, the instrument supports efficient monitoring workflows while helping to reduce manual interventions in critical zones.

MBV AG evaluated the MAS-100 Libra® using computational fluid dynamics (CFD), smoke visualisation studies and vaporised hydrogen peroxide (VHP) decontamination testing. Together, these studies provide a science-based evaluation of airflow integrity, first-air exposure and decontamination performance.

In this application note you will find out:

  • How the MAS-100 Libra® automates settle plate handling in isolators, RABS and GMP-regulated cleanroom environments
  • How standardised plate movement and exposure can support efficient monitoring workflows while reducing manual interventions
  • How the system maintains laminar airflow integrity during automated settle plate exposure
  • How the MAS-100 Libra® enables effective VHP decontamination in critical aseptic environments

Download the application note to explore the study methodology and findings, and understand how CFD, smoke visualisation and VHP testing were used to evaluate the MAS-100 Libra® for critical aseptic environments.
